Range Rules & Ammunition Restrictions
- Tracers, steel core bullets and any other bullets that attract a magnet are prohibited-no exceptions.
- Any 338 Lapua, or larger calibers can be shot at the metal targets from ***545 yards and beyond,****but not at any closer metal targets. 50 BMG (caliber) can only be shot at the metal targets located at 420, 545 and 1000 yards, which are painted white, but not at any other metal targets. Sight in on paper targets at closer ranges will be allowed by discretion of the RSO on duty, as long as the ammunition does not attract a magnet.
- Fully Automatic (the Real Assault Weapons) can be fired only with prior approval by the Chief RSO, or the Mayor with prior approval (at least 24 hours) and with an appointed RSO dedicated to monitoring that individual shooter. Muzzleloaders can be shot without further restrictions. Shotgun shooting is not allowed during the public hours.
- Shooting at the range is a privilege, not a right.
- Check in is required with the Range Safety Officer upon arrival.
- Eye and Ear protection are required at all times.
- Non-shooters must stay behind the YELLOW line, unless coaching or spotting.
- No one is allowed forward of the RED line.
- Always follow the commands of the Range Officer.
- Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
- Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
- Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
- No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs are allowed at the range, or parking lot.
- Enter and exit the firing line on the sides, not in front of the benches.
